My favorite software as a Photographer

Canon and Fuji camera equipment in RAW

Before discussing the software I use in my photoshoot treatments. A quick update on the equipment used, Both natural light, or studio with Godox or Profoto flashes. My 2 most modern camera bodies are a Canon 5D and a Fuji XT4.

Sorting with Photolikr

After the photo session is over, I manually copy the files from the memory cards, but I start by visualizing and sorting them with PhotoLikr from ObviousIdea. Indeed, it's a very simple but above all very fast tool that supports RAW files ( CR2 , CR3, RAF ) , and even the raw+jpeg.
With or without the touchscreen, I can select with the arrow keys on the keyboard ergonomically. Up Arrow, I validate and retain the selection, Down arrow or nothing, I pass. Once my first visit, I look at the distribution of files, and if there is around 20 to 30% left , I use the software to copy them into a subdirectory. I can obviously assign up to 5 levels ( like the 5 stars of LightRoom )

Adobe Lightroom Classic and Photoshop

Then I switch to LightRoom , having used Photolikr before, I saved time and as Lightroom catalogs are big and slow. My goal is to keep only a usable selection of photos.
Then once in Lightroom , I switch from LightRoom to Photoshop depending on the level of retouching, Photoshop for content-aware, generative AI, and the fluidity tool. The rest like the chromia, Brightness and local settings.

By the way, I would like to point out that the company ObviousIdea offers a tool LRToolbox for Lightroom in case you have lost your photos ( Flights, Hard drive failures) but you still have the Lightroom catalog ( this was my case because my catalogs are stored on Dropbox ). Finally, I export at a fairly large size ( 4K equivalent ) but photo, unless I have a very specific client who needs a resolution for a commercial POS, a print, etc

Then if I need Put a watermark to protect my photos, I use Light Image Resizer. It will allow me to do a lot of tasks on the files whether it is to resize, or convert to other formats that are more optimized for storage like WebP or HEIC.
Light Image Resizer also allows you to make cool edits, like contact sheets. I can use metadata to display EXIF in a white border. or prepare my photos to crop them for Instagram.
